100 Things. That really should be updated.

Finally, I have summoned the nerve to do this list. It’s a little daunting, and may take me a while, but here goes!

1. I was born, raised & still live in British Columbia, Canada.
2. I am in my 30s.
3. I have 2 sons.
4. I have been married since 1998.
5. I was 3 months pregnant with my firstborn when I got married. And everyone knew it.
6. He’s not the reason we got married.
7. No, really. We’d planned to do it eventually, were 3 years into our relationship, and it seemed like the “right” time.
8. I had no desire for a 2nd child until we bought our house in 2001.
9. Then I jumped my husband’s bones daily, until we got pregnant.
10. Sadly (for him), this was the end of the daily booty-call. I was too damn tired.
11. I give birth to large babies (9 lb 5 oz & 10 lb 11 oz).
12. Make that large babies who do not wish to leave my body via the predetermined exit OR on time.
13. I was 13 days overdue with my 1st son, and 15 with my 2nd.
14. I have breastfed for a total of 32 months. My firstborn got the short end of the stick, with 11 months of that total.
15. I do not plan to have more children.
16. I did not get my tubes tied. D took care of future birth control with a vasectomy.
17. The only thing I hate about being off the pill is that my periods are closer together.
18. I have 1 sister.
19. My parents are still married, after 35 years.
20. I love that I have sons, although daughters would have been cool too.
21. I’ve only ever briefly lived without a pet in my home.
22. I have 3 cats and 1 dog.
23. Until I met D, I was not a cat person. At all.
24. I have always been a dog person.
25. I would like a little dog someday. We only have med/big ones now.
26. I am an SPCA volunteer.
27. I drew my mom’s name for Christmas.
28. I’m so glad we do a draw, otherwise it’s just ridiculously expensive.
29. I have yet to say much about my occupation in my blog.
30. I’m not sure I ever will.
31. I work in an office.
32. There, that’s broad enough.
33. I collect pigs. Stuffed, ceramic, whatevah. They’re cute.
34. It started when my best friend died at 16.
35. My first pig was her favourite stuffed piggy.
36. I feel like I’ve been typing forever, and I’m not even half-way done!
37. I’ve known my oldest friend since we were 2.
38. We keep in touch, but don’t see each other much.
39. My best friend from HS (aka Karen ) and I email almost daily.
40. We’ve known each other for 18 years. Longer than we haven’t known each other. Wow.
41. It’s all her fault I’m blogging.
42. Well, mostly her fault.
43. I am a Harry Potter fanatic . Books, movies, more, more more!
44. I watched the newest movie tonight.
45. I could happily watch it again right now, but for the numb ass I get in the theatre.
46. I don’t go to movies very often.
47. I’m not a movie snob.
48. I don’t like “classic” movies.
49. Perhaps I will later in life.
50. I read voraciously.
51. Really, it’s more like I eat books.
52. I’m reading Missing Mom right now, by Joyce Carol Oates.
53. She’s one of my semi-favourite authors.
54. Diana Gabaldon was a favourite, but then The Fiery Cross was written. Dreck.
55. I’ve been told her newest book is much better.
56. I’d have a hard time naming all my favourite books.
57. Math is easy for me. Most of the time.
58. I like to look for shortcuts.
59. People who can’t/won’t be more efficient annoy me.
60. I fantasize about what I’d do if I won the lottery.
61. I hardly ever play the lottery.
62. I think my hair is pretty.
63. My eyes are my best feature.
64. They’re green, with a ring of brown.
65. Ok, they’re hazel.
66. I have a blue-eyed son.
67. I have a blue-eyed husband.
68. Hence the blue-eyed son.
69. My 3 yr old ends up in my bed almost every night.
70. I am tired of sharing my bed with him.
71. I can play the piano…and the guitar, clarinet and ukelele.
72. I wish I owned a piano.
73. I enjoy trivia games.
74. I’m running out of steam here.
75. I’m a morning person.
76. I love skim milk.
77. If drinking, I prefer vodka.
78. I smoked for 10 years.
79. I quit in August 2000.
80. I like to imagine all the money I’ve saved since quitting.
81. I live with a smoker.
82. I’m proud that I’ve never slipped up, even with cigarettes so available to me.
83. I need more fibre in my diet.
84. I’ve never been off the continent of N. America.
85. I have a burning desire to go to Africa. This probably won’t happen until my kids leave home.
86. I think I’m funny.
87. My sense of humour is slightly twisted, just the way I like it.
88. I can “pill a cat” and live to tell about it.
89. I can also give my animals their vaccinations.
90. I wear black dress pants almost every day I work.
91. I like the simplicity of black dress pants.
92. I’m not a skirt person.
93. When I wear a dress, much commentary follows. It’s a rarity.
94. I wish I could tell my HS self that I was NOT fat, and to just maintain that figure.
95. I need to lose weight.
96. I’m trying to grow out my hair.
97. And my bangs.
98. I hate my “in-between” hair some days.
99. OMG! I’m at 99!
100. I’m a Vancouver Canucks fan. There, that’s a nice positive note on which to end.
